Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Centre of Socio-Economic studies for the weaker sections of Society Panjab University, Chandigarh established in 2001.

Vision and Mission
Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Centre will make to disseminate the ideas, philosophy, knowledge and contribution of Dr. Ambedkar's to society.

Centre Focus
The Centre basically focuses on Dr. B. R. Ambedkar's Life and Mission, his Legacy, Literature and its Relevance, Philosophy and its Future Vision. The Centre also focuses on Dr. Ambedkar's thoughts on Indian National Spirit and his approach for marginalized groups. The centre also emphasise on Ambedkar and his views on Social Justice and his contribution for the upliftment of depressed classes and also highlight his thoughts on social, economic and political reforms. It also focuses on the relevance of Indian Constitution and Ambedkar thoughts on Human Rights and Constitutional Reforms. Objective of the Centre

  1. To disseminate the views, ideals and principles of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.
  2. To study the work of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar scientifically and objectively, to understand Dr. Ambedkar's in relevance today's context.
  3. To focus on the contributions of Dr. Ambedkar for the upliftment of the socially and economically deprived sections of the society.
  4. To extend library and reading room for teachers, scholars and students of the University and to make them acquainted with Dr. Ambedkar's philosophy.
